Finding the Zeros

To find the zeros in 'factored form' they are found by setting each "factor" equal to zero. Another way is to sub y=0 that was taught on the concept of vertex form, however now its a much simple method solving it in factored form.

For example: y=10(x-5)(x+8)

0=10(x-5)(x+8) *Set each bracket equal to zero to find the zeros

x-5=0       x+8=0

x=5           x=-8

Now lets try:

a) y=-0.5(x-10)(x-5)                                 b) y= 3(2x+6)(-4x+16)                           c) y= 9(-3x-9)(10x+20)

d) y= -0.9(x-2)(x-1)                                e) y= 10(6x-36)(3x+16)                          f) y= 20(5x+20)(-4x-8)
