Quadratic RELATIONS

Finite Differences
Tip:
- To calculate 'first differences' subtract the second y value from the first y-value
Linear
Quadratic
Neither

Example 1:
Example 2:
Finite Differences tell us whether the value of charts is quadratic, linear or neither. These following examples will allow you to understand the concept more clear.
If the first differences are constant
the table of values tells us that it is linear
If the first differences can be continued to be subtracted, and the second differences are contant, it indicates that the table of values is quadratic
